Being blind is never easy, yet this does not stop this Pitong Pinoy 2.0 awardee. Since he was a child, Ted Peonferrada has been visually impaired, that is why he fights for the rights of his fellow blind Filipinos.

He had initiated the project which started the braile translation of the Passion of Christ. This is the first catholic document to be printed in braile. This has helped a lot of blind Filipinos share in the wonders of Passion of Christ.

He visits blind people in jail who get arrested for asking for money. He teaches them things they can use to earn a living. He recognizes the ability of blind people more than any other person.

I believe this is why Ted Ponferrada is a modern day hero. He can see beyond the the physical capabilities of people and help them grow. He fights for the rights of those who are blind, and help them become better people.

He also embodies the Filipino characteristic of hardwork and perseverance. He had wanted to join the "pabasa" of the Passion of Christ, and through his hard works he was able to help print a braile copy of it. Indeed, Ted Ponferrada is a blind Filipino, yet a true Filipino.
